March Madnes 2024 NCAA Tournament: Second Round

Damn, is that Mark Sears' mom?

GCU is just too strong

This is far from the first time a conference had a down year, got few into the tournament, and did something like four in the sweet 16. Nobody thought Clemson would win a game and NC State got hot at the right time. Thus far, the conference has beaten a 6, 14, 16, 9, 13, 12, 11, and 3. It's not called March madness for nothing. Draws play a huge part of the craziness.
Sure. That doesn't change the fact that the league was called mediocre all season and many pundits declared it worse than the MWC.

Now do the other conferences

GCU relentless driving to the hoop and either making baskets or drawing fouls

Need septuple OT

This game is hype

right. NC State overperformed their seed against #6 Texas Tech. not NCSU's fault that Calipari is retarded and didn't adjust against a dude that can only shoot 3's. Clemson overperformed their seed against #3 Baylor.

its the first time a league with only 4 Round of 64 teams advanced them all to the Sweet 16 in 21 years.

so not the first time, but also not very common. has only happened six times in the tournament's history. tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985.

also the first time in the NET era. which is definitely noteworthy.

horrible shot by Grand Canyon

Damn. GCU giving up too many offensive rebounds the last few minutes

The Cinderellas are ugly so far this year

GCU tanking my +6.5 vBet the last 4-5 minutes

In 2014 the SEC was considered basically garbage. Only three teams in and one was a play-in. All three made the sweet 16 and two made the final four.

Well, Gulf Coast U tried

Not the best second round in terms of tight games, this battle of Texas could be good tho

comical, because none of this has to do with my original post. MWC and the Big 12 gamed the current system this year with their OOC scheduling. They were able to enhance their Q1/Q2 opportunities during the conference season this way. That's the gripe. not the "The ACC is big and bad because they were able to seize the opportunity in a single elimination tournament." The ACC's results in the tournament relative to the Big 12 and MWC is still noteworthy. especially since NCSU and Clemson are 3-0 against those conferences.

Texas had *two* wins against the final NCAAT field. Two! but they earned a #7 seed.

Texas A&M has a great shot at this game.
